The origins of dancing
Although the very first occurrences of dancing remain very mysterious, there is some archeological evidence in the form of illustrated ceramic fragments. These are said to date from 5000 to 9000 years ago in early agricultural regions. These were located between modern Pakistan and the Danube basin.
Furthermore, dancing was part of rituals and religious ceremonies. People would congregate around these traditions in order to celebrate, to mourn, … The goal was truly to insist on the importance of gathering as a community following an important event, whatever it might be.
Dancing as part of a cultural heritage
